Connections Program

The Arc of Mid-Michigan’s Connections Program is designed for teens and adults, age 13 and up, with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

During the course of the Program everyone will have fun while making new friends, building new skills, and growing their independence. Give your loved one an experience that will last a lifetime! This experience is built around the wonderful qualities of our members. It gives them the opportunity to focus on their various abilities. We accomplish this idea by showing our participants their potential. Connections provides them with opportunities to influence their community and see the impact that they have made by becoming contributing citizens.

As a result our community will also become more aware, accepting, and welcoming of those that have unique and different abilities. Community inclusion is part of our Connections activities.

Connections participants will expand their current abilities, discover and improve upon new skills, explore their natural leadership abilities, as well as learn to display, support, and accept leadership skills within themselves as well as their peers.

*Those needing one on one assistance must have staff.*

*Must be a member of The Arc of Mid-Michigan to participate in Connections Program*

2025 Connections Changes

We are excited to announce an exciting and positive update to our Connections Program. Starting this June, the Connections Program will transition to a year-round format rather than being limited to the school year. This change will allow us to provide continuous weekly programming for the individuals in connections throughout the year.

With this change, we will no longer offer our traditional summer camp. We know how vital stable routines and predictability are for our participants. While we will miss the camp experience, we are excited about the opportunities that this new summer schedule will provide. Those who do not typically participate in connections are still welcome and encouraged to join the fun. We’ll continue many favorite activities while adding new ones that summer camp’s schedule didn’t allow.

Program Details:

  • The Connections Program will now run year-round on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 4:30 PM, with scheduled holiday breaks. Sessions end promptly at 4:30 PM per SATA’s route schedule.

  • Annual Renewal: Each year, enrollment renewal will be required for continued participation to ensure we have the most up to date information.

Break specifics will be detailed in each year’s calendar.

The Connections tab on our website is currently being renovated to have updated calendar information, payment schedules, payment processing, registration forms, and much more for your convenience.

Electronic Communications

As part of our commitment to sustainability, The Arc of Mid-Michigan is shifting to electronic communication. This allows us to send monthly invoices by email, including any credited days from the previous month, and to share updates, reminders, events, and important information via email and text.

Reducing paper use helps us preserve resources and focus more on serving individuals and families in our community.
